Funding Opportunities

The following funding opportunity is available:

The Global Health Policy and Systems Research (Global HPSR) Programme is funded via the UK Government’s commitment to Official Development Assistance (ODA) and supports high-quality applied health research for the direct and primary benefit of people in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).

The Global HPSR Commissioned Call will provide funding of a maximum of £4m per application for a period of up to 4 years for partnerships/consortia led by two Joint Lead Applicants (one from a ODA-eligible country and one from a UK institution) and up to three additional Co-Applicants from ODA-eligible LMIC, UK and non-LMIC institutions. Applications proposing non-LMIC Co-Applicants are in scope provided there is clear justification for their involvement and those resources cannot be found within ODA-eligible countries. The scope of the NIHR Global HPSR Programme is broad, covering any area of applied health services and whole systems research, which can ultimately strengthen and improve health systems for people in ODA-eligible countries on the Development Assistance Committee list.

The Programme particularly encourages involvement of a wide range of disciplines driven by the research questions and needs as identified by stakeholders in LMICs and relevant to low resource settings.

An information webinar will be held on the 23 October 2019. Please register your interest by e-mailing nihrgh@soton.ac.uk.

The deadline for submission is 11 December 2019 at 13:00. For the full details of the call, the remit and priority areas click here.
