South African Guidelines Excellence Project

The South African Guideline Excellence Project (SAGE) is managed by Cochrane SA and involves the following partners: SAMRC’s Health Systems Research Unit, the Centre for Evidence-based Health Care at Stellenbosch University and the International Centre for Allied Health Evidence at the University of South Australia. It is funded through a Flagship grant from the SAMRC.

SAGE is a partnership to enhance the quality and use of primary care clinical guidelines by working with communities, clinicians, policy makers, health-service managers and researchers.  SAGE gathers evidence from around the world, and uses local skills and knowledge, to support the development, adaptation and implementation of guidelines for South Africa to improve healthcare processes, costs and outcomes.
